Longitudinal Section

On the early morning of April 15, 1912 the Cunard liner Carpathia rescued the bitterly cold and traumatized survivors of the Titanic disaster. She had been enroute to the sunny Mediterranean when she picked up Titanic’s distress call. She immediately responded by steaming full speed towards Titanic’s reported position 58 miles away. Carpathia’s heroic dash braving numerous icebergs in the hope of reaching the stricken ship before she slipped beneath the surface of the Atlantic. When she arrived at the scene there was no sign of her, the great White Star liner had disappeared into the depths well over an hour previously. To the 705 survivors Carpathia picked up, she must have seemed like a miracle as she steamed out of the dawn.

This handsome accommodation plan looks great framed. A remarkable reference to Titanic’s rescue ship that you will look at again and again.
