Wednesday morning, April 10, 1912 dawned bright at the White Star Dock in Southampton and there was much activity on board White Star’s newest liner, Titanic. During the course of the next few hours hundreds of people made their way to the docks either crew returning to work or passengers full of excitement at the prospect of traveling in the world’s largest ship. Those who had traveled on Olympic were impressed with Titanic’s improvements and refinements of added luxury such as thick carpeting and the unaccustomed size and spaciousness of her enlarged public rooms.

After at stop across the Channel in Cherbourg that evening for a few hours and briefly the next day at Queenstown to pick up more passengers and mail, she weighed anchor at 1:30 pm, her screws once again stirring the sea into billowing clouds of sandy water. Her destination, New York, and the maiden arrival welcome that awaited her.

This Accommodation Plan was reproduced from a rare original from the Titanic Historical Society collection that was handed out by travel agencies to prospective customers planning to sail on Titanic.
