Description

by Cris Kohl.

On Titanic’s maiden voyage, over 300 of the 1,500 passengers were ultimately bound for the Great Lakes region. 61 made Chicago their destination, 24 aimed for Detroit, while hundreds were headed for smaller towns and rural settings in Ontario, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and New York state either returning to their home or hoping to settle in a new land. Some survived while others never reached their destination. This book tells their stories, how the Press in the Great Lakes area reported the tragedy and the effects the sinking had upon Great Lakes shipping and safety.

Softback. Illustrated. 320 pages.
