HMHS Britannic
by Stewart Williamson
Titanic’s other sister––Britannic––is a superb print that shows the mighty (His Majesty’s Hospital Ship) H.M.H.S. Britannic on the early morning of November 21, 1916, steaming majestically through a calm Aegean Sea; her destination Mudros. Within the next hour she was mortally wounded by a mine laid by the German U-Boat No.73. She sank in 50 minutes with the loss of 21 lives. (Please note image scan cut off some top — cutting off some of the foremast, also sides and bottom of the overall picture which shows more sea and sky)
